OnePlus has released a new Over the Air (OTA) for its latest flagship, the OnePlus 5. OnePlus 5 users noticed the new update and posted about it on the OnePlus forums. The company has not announced the rollout in an official blog post at the time of writing.
This new update comes more than a month after the previous update, OxygenOS 4.5.10 rollout to OnePlus 5 users. According to the screenshots posted on the forum post, the new OTA updates the Android security patch in the OxygenOS to September.
Apart from that, the latest update brings a number of bug fixes to the operating system along with better optimizations across the system. OnePlus claims that this new update improves the launch speed of the apps along with optimized adaptive brightness.
The company has also added support for customizing the notification ringtone. Other than that, the bug fixes include fixing the instance where a YouTube video was lagging behind the audio of the video and some display issues with some UI elements. The company also fixed a problem where some users reported no 4G+ network in some regions.
As always, not everyone will receive the update all at once. The OTA update is being rolled out in phases, so only a small percentage of users will receive it on day one with a broader rollout starting in a few days.
