It’s been a relatively slow few months for viral videos. The year that started off reeling under the effect of last year’s Gangnam Style has not seen too many viral videos – musical or otherwise – that would really stick.
The situation is not all that grim, though. Here’s a handpicked list of our favourite viral videos to have hit YouTube recently. Get prepared to be amused, feel warm and fuzzy and go “WTF” with our list of some brilliant viral videos.
Shit Indian Censors Say
Just when you thought the “Shit so-and-so says” kind of meme had been done to death, resuscitated and then strangled again in the worst possible way, here comes a highly polished video that film-makers and aficionados will relate to really well.
The video, conceptualised and shot by Mihir Desai, stars some of the up and coming stars of Bollywood and the Indie scene in the country. The meme has been brilliantly put to use by ace writer Varun Grover of Gangs of Wasseypur fame, who takes a dig at the double standards of the censors. He highlights the extreme lengths they will go to in order to ensure “culture” remains within films.

Top 10 Sleepy Animal Videos
Now, we don’t usually like to do a list within a list, because this isn’t Inception, but this video was simply irresistible. Like most people who surf the Interwebz, we have a soft spot for cute animals too. When these cute animals are sleepy and on camera, the overdose of “aww” simply makes out heads explode and turns us to mush.
Like this puppy whose head is slipping off a surface as it dozes off, or this kitten that gets pulled into an embrace by its mother as it writhes around while having a nightmare; we might have to punch a wall to feel manly again. First posted by Modern Mom on its website, the repost of this video has received about 60,000 likes and 400,000 shares on Facebook in the past two weeks alone. Check the video out and go “d’aww”!
Eye to Eye
Unless you’ve been living under a rock since the past couple of weeks, you’ve had Eye to Eye being shared all over your Facebook homepage. This song has been sung, produced and directed by Pakistani musician Taher Shah who has also starred in it – in a double role.
Trying to write about the video is futile. In fact, we aren’t even sure about how to describe this video. Here’s a screenshot of this masterpiece:
So who was Tyler Durden?
Yeah, Shah has piercing eyes. They dig deep into the recesses of your soul – through your eyes. Here’s what he has to say about eyes: “Keep your love in the Soul, make love with eye to eye.
