Oppo A83 to launch in India on 20 January with a probable price tag of Rs 13,990

Oppo is launching its mid-range phone — the Oppo A83 — in India soon, most likely on 20 January according to a tweet sent out on its India Twitter account. Oppo India has been tweeting out details of the Oppo A83 on its Twitter account at regular intervals and it looks like this will continue till the launch date.

The Oppo A83 was recently launched in China on 27 December, for a price of CNY 1,399. The Indian price is expected to be pegged at Rs 13,990, which is pretty much in line with the Chinese price tag.

The smartphone comes with a 5.7-inch, 18:9 ratio display with an HD+ resolution (1440 x 720 pixels). It features a 13 MP rear camera and an 8 MP front camera. Oppo is banking on the AI-powered Beauty Recognition Technology which the phone comes with. It also features a sleek design measuring 150.5 × 73.1 × 7.7 mm.

The Oppo A83 houses a 2.5 GHz octa-core processor sporting SoC, has 4 GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage. It runs on Android 7.1 Nougat and is powered by a 3,180 mAh battery.

It also features the recently introduced facial recognition technology that unlocks the device by scanning the face of the user in 0.18 seconds.
