Oppo has launched its mid-range device, the Oppo A71 (2018), in Pakistan, ahead of the India launch. The smartphone which was announced in September 2017 is similar to its predecessor but comes with some improvements.
The Oppo A71 (2018) is priced at PKR 19,899 (which is approx Rs 11,400) and comes in gold and black colours. There are no details out about the India release date yet.
According to GSMArena, the Oppo A71 (2018) comes with the same 5.2-inch HD TFT display, dual-SIM functionality, 13 MP primary camera with f/2.2 aperture and a 5 MP selfie camera with f/2.4 aperture. The battery on the Oppo A71 (2018) is also the same as the 2017 version, at 3,000 mAh. Even the dimensions are similar at 148.1 x 73.8 x 7.6 mm and 137 g weight.
What has changed, however, are the internals. For starters, the Oppo A71 (2018) comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 chipset which comes with 8x Cortex A53 cores closed up to 1.8 GHz and Adreno 506 GPU for handling the graphics. Last year's model came with a MediaTek chipset — MT6750.
One of the features that Oppo is highlighting is the AI Beauty Recognition Technology, which Oppo claims is based on a "global image database which serves as an experienced photographer who knows your beauty and will offer the most suitable beautify effect on you."
The Oppo A71 (2018) comes with 2 GB RAM and runs on Android 7.1 Nougat with the ColorOS 3.2 skin atop it. The 2017 variant of the Oppo A71 had the ColorOS 3.1 skin on it.
