Oppo’s latest entry-level smartphone is the A57 and it’s been launched in India for Rs 14,990. As usual, the A57 gets the ‘selfie’ branding and to that end, carries a 16MP front camera. For Rs 14,990, you get a 5.2-inch IPS HD screen with 2.5D Gorilla Glass 4 protection, a 1.4GHz octa-core Snapdragon 435 SoC and a combination of 3GB RAM with 32GB of storage which is expandable by 256GB via microSD card, For connectivity, you get Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, radio and micro-USB 2.0. The phone also supports dual-SIM and uses nano SIM cards. The rear camera is a 13MP f/2.2 unit with PDAF and an LED flash. As mentioned earlier, the front unit is a 16MP f/2.0 unit with support for screen flash and Oppo’s ‘Beautify 4.0’ processing for selfies. The battery is a 2,900mAh unit and you get a fingerprint sensor on the front. The phone will only be available in Gold and Rose Gold. The phone will go on sale on 3 February on many ecommerce sites including Amazon, Flipkart and Snapdeal. It will also be available in retail stores across the country.
