OnePlus X2 is rumoured to be in the works and could see a possible launch after the OnePlus 6

The **OnePlus X** was not a very popular device and the Chinese manufacturer had dropped the phone back in 2016 to concentrate on flagship devices such as the **OnePlus 5** and OnePlus 5T. However, there are reports hinting at a possible revival of the budget smartphone from the company alongside the development of the OnePlus 6. [caption id=“attachment_4337451” align=“alignleft” width=“380”]OnePlus X. OnePlus X.[/caption] As per a report by Techpp, rumours are that a successor to the glass-backed OnePlus device is in the making and could possibly be called the OnePlus X2. It could be announced after the OnePlus 6 announcement, keeping in line with the festival season in India. As with original OnePlus X, the price of this rumoured device should be in the mid-range segment of Rs 16,000 to Rs 18,0000. The eye-catching fact is that even at this price tag, there is a probability that the phone might have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC under the hood. The reason behind this is that according to the report, OnePlus is rumoured to be stuck with a number of Snapdragon 835 chipsets, which it plans to offload in this device during the holiday season sale. The report points out that the OnePlus X2 should have 4 GB of RAM and two storage variants of 32 GB and 64 GB. The phone may also have a 5.5-inch AMOLED display with an aspect ratio of 16:9, a 3,000 mAh battery and also OnePlus’ proprietary dash-charging capabilities. For all you know, it would seem that the phone could most probably be a lower priced OnePlus 5, minus the dual-camera system. There are also rumours of the device having the face unlock system as seen on the **OnePlus 5T** . The question remains as to why would OnePlus want to go down the troubled road of relaunching a failed device when it is already doing great with the current OnePlus 5T. Perhaps a little diversification of the product lineup? Who knows? As of now this is still in the realm of speculation, so do take this with a pinch of salt. If anything concrete surfaces, we will keep you updated.
