The company also recently posted a detailed video in documentary format, giving an insight of how the launch of OnePlus 2 was planned and how the relatively young company faced paramount pressure but prevailed in the end after facing numerous issues from sorting out the bugs in Oxygen OS days before the launch, to bad internet connection while watching the final launch event.
“The Second Album: The Untold Story Behind the OnePlus 2 Launch” also showed the powerful conviction of the company to actually do more and explain the thought behind the name of the company and newer concepts like “Pop-up Stores to distribute Physical invites and experience the OnePlus 2 right before the device was available for pre-order though the invite system. Such stores were open all across the world in popular cities and in India, the stores were open in Delhi and Bengaluru.
OnePlus with the upcoming launch has decided to bring the “Pop-up Stores” back with the stores being opened in Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru in India. In addition to these stores, OnePlus has also started a “Blind Sale,” where they are asking you to pre-order the device without knowing the details or even the final prince of the device. The company has put up 1000 devices in this promotion and has priced it upto $256 and it notes that this is not the final price, but it may be near to the final retail price depending to the model that is being offered.
According to the listing on TENNA, that OnePlus 3 will come in both 4GB and 6GB variants and now the rumours suggest that the device will come in 32GB, 64GB and 128GB, which will bring the number of variants upto 6 . The pricing for the “Blind Sale” the goes in line with the configurations available and the lower than current flagship device prices by OnePlus. The promotion has no indication of the number of or what the device configuration will be, the image is just a black pox without much details. In addition to that, apparent OnePlus 3 rear camera samples were leaked on Weibo .
This comes days after the OTA (over-the-air) update for OnePlus 2 was announced to bring the Android version on device to Marshmallow. The launch event for OnePlus 3 will be held on June 14 at 10 PM, (India time) after which the flagship will be available without invites .
