OnePlus One to launch its 16GB Silk White variant; invites start from February 23

OnePlus One will be launching its 16GB variant most likely on February 23, according to a tweet seen on the company’s Twitter handle. OnePlus will have a contest and winners of it will get an invite in their inbox on February 23. The 16GB variant of the OnePlus One will have a Silk white matte finish back cover which is different from the sandstone gray colour which one has come to associate with the OnePlus One.

OnePlus is having a contest for India users which you can enter here. OnePlus hasn’t mentioned any price point for the 16GB variant. But going by the 64GB variant’s Rs 21,999 price point, it would be safe to assume that the 16GB model will come under Rs 20,000. This is an interesting turn of events between the Chinese phone makers OnePlus and Xiaomi. While OnePlus is releasing a 16GB model since it already has a 64GB model selling in India, Xiaomi on the other hand **will be releasing the 64GB variant** as it is already selling the 16GB model. With these phone launches, both companies will have devices which will compete on the storage variants. When it comes to internal specifications, the 16GB OnePlus One will have the same Snapdragon 801 SoC, 3GB RAM, Android 4.4.4 KitKat with Cyanogen Mod 11S on it till OnePlus releases the stable version of the OxygenOS.
