OnePlus is rolling out new update to OnePlus 5, 5T to fix the latest Wi-Fi issue

OnePlus 5, OnePlus 5T were facing Wi-Fi and physical button issue after the Android Pie update.

A month ago, OnePlus rolled out the Android Pie update to the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T smartphones. While the update came with a bunch of new features, it unfortunately also carried a few bugs in it (which often happens in a new OS upgrade). One of the issues that were most widely complained about was the Wi-Fi issue, where the users were facing problems while using any third-party apps. However, now, OnePlus has started rolling out a hotfix update for both the device.

According to the changelog shared by OnePlus, this update is targeted to fix two major issues – the Wi-Fi connectivity problem, and the issue of the capacitive or physical button not working on OnePlus 5 devices. Besides these, the update also does minor improvements to the OS.

Further, the update also fixes the overall stability of the Wi-Fi connection. It also improves the dedicated reading mode and sRGB display mode. OnePlus has also fixed the problem of the 4G-VoLTE toggle no showing up in the action bar and a random system reboot problem while casting the screen.

Most OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T users will automatically see the update notification on their phone. However, if you want to trigger it manually you can head to Settings > Software Update > Update phone manually.

A select number of users started to receive this update last week, but a wider number of users are expected to get the update in the next few days.
