OnePlus could reintroduce invite system for India launch

OnePlus may bring back the infamous invite system along with the launch of the upcoming flagship, OnePlus 5. The company hinted the return of ‘invite code’ on the landing page for the **launch event** in India. The landing page reads ‘Invite holders will receive a OnePlus 5 invite code at the launch event. It ensures **you can purchase the OnePlus 5** on the OnePlus store right away by using the code, under the ‘OnePlus 5 Invite Code’ section. The OnePlus 5 invite code is a part of the ‘ Invite Box’ that the company is currently offering on the launch landing page. According to the details posted on the website, the ‘Invite Box’ will come with the OnePlus 5 launch t-shirt, event invite, welcome pack worth Rs 10,000, OnePlus 5 voucher which is worth Rs 999 and the OnePlus 5 invite code. You can check the additional details about the invite page on the website. This was to ensure that the company is not manufacturing smartphones in excess because of limited resources. They removed the chance of unsold inventory and helped the company sell smartphones by incurring minimal losses. The Chinese smartphone maker eventually launched the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T without the need of any invite system. This comes right after OnePlus was spotted on GFXBench website, giving us an informal confirmation about the specifications of the OnePlus 5. The smartphone will launch with a 5.5-inch Full HD display while running Android 7.1.1. It will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 paired with an Adreno 540 GPU. The spec sheet on the benchmarking website points out that the rear camera and the front camera will come with 16 MP camera sensors. OnePlus 5 will pack in 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage. This came right after the expected **prices for the two variants of OnePlus 5** leaked online.
