OnePlus announces no price hike for flagship device OnePlus One in India

Chinese smartphone manufacturer OnePlus has made an announcement that it will not increase the price for its flagship device - OnePlus One in India even though there is an increase in the customs duty on imported mobile devices. The device will continue to be available for users in India at Rs 21,999 for the 64GB model and Rs 18,999 for the 16GB model. Vikas Agarwal, General Manager - India, OnePlus has said that, “In line with our #NeverSettle philosophy and long term commitment to the Indian market, we assure our users that we are constantly evaluating what works best for them; part of that is to continue to make the One available at an attractive price point.” At the moment, the 64GB OnePlus One is available in Sandstone Black and 16GB is available in Silk White, through Amazon using the invite system. Both models are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, 4G support and a 5.5-inch full HD screen. They feature a 13MP rear camera along with a 3100mAh Li-Po battery. Recently, the company released its own custom ROM, the **OxygenOS for OnePlus One users** in India. Those interested in flashing the new OS can download the update from OnePlus’s microsite. The OxygenOS is based on the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop OS and OnePlus claims that it is light and has subtle features. Some of the common features include Gestures which includes double tapping to wake up the phone, music controls, shortcuts for camera and flashlight.
