The OnePlus 5 was just **announced** globally on 20 June, 2017 with the India launch set for 22 June. While customers in India will be able to purchase the device at launch, OnePlus has already started pushing out a new update for its flagship smartphone. The new update has been tagged as OxygenOS 4.5.1 (7.1.1) and it will arrive as an over-the-air (OTA) update as soon as customers boot up their new OnePlus 5 smartphones. The phone when announced was said to run OxygenOS 4.5.0 out of the box. This new update will bring changes to the camera, increase Bluetooth stability, optimize the network stability and also the system stability. The update will also make the OnePlus 5 compatible with 3rd party apps. The app has total size of 158 MB. This immediate OS update after the OnePlus 5 launch worldwide is good news for customers in India as the phone is slated to launch in the country on June 22, 2017. Indian customers can purchase the phone starting from 4:00 PM on 22, June exclusively on Amazon and receive the new update. The India launch will be followed by four **pop-up events** in cities around the country, that will allow OnePlus fans to touch and feel the new flagship for themselves, as well as avail offers on the device. The device is powered by the top-of-the-line Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 platform. The screen is a 5.5-inch AMOLED screen sporting a Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080, protected by Gorilla Glass 5. OnePlus launched to variants of the device one with 8 GB RAM, 128 GB storage and the other with 6 GB RAM, 64 GB storage.
The OnePlus 5 was just announced worldwide and already one of the users has reported that a new update of the OnePlus’ native Oxygen OS has come out.
