OnePlus indeed seems to be doing plenty of unconventional things this year. The company's flagship smartphone will be launched via its Loop event in space using VR, while the OnePlus 3 smartphone is going the invite-free way and will be available online for purchase from day one. But the surprises just keep coming! OnePlus has now officially announced via its website that the company will be setting up pop-up stores across the globe where fans will be able to try and buy the upcoming smartphone on 15 June.
The list of cities is even more surprising. We have New York, London, Paris, Berlin in the west and Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore in the east. The official website even lists the stores where the OnePlus 3 smartphones will be available for purchase. So far, only the locations of the New York, Paris, London and Berlin stores have been revealed. The locations in India have been marked as "coming soon" so fans will need to keep a look out on launch page for more details.
While OnePlus did take the pop-up stores route after the launch of the OnePlus 2, in India, the pop-up events were only available in Delhi and Bangalore. This time around we have more than two locations in India itself that now includes Mumbai.
A recent product listing showed off two types of the OnePlus 3 smartphones. There is a standard model that packs in 4GB RAM and will be available in 32GB, 64GB and 128GB variants. The same listing also shows a OnePlus 3 smartphone that packs in a whopping 6GB RAM and will also be available in 32GB, 64GB and 128GB variants.
