OnePlus has finally announced its latest flagship device, the OnePlus 3, in the VR launch event held earlier tonight. The latest flagship is exclusively available on the Virtual Store for the people experiencing the launch in Virtual Reality via the OnePlus 3 VR app, and later will go on sale exclusively through Amazon India at 12.30 AM on 15 June at Rs 27,999. OnePlus 3 houses the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset which has a quad-core processor, with two cores clocked at 2.15 G and two Kyro cores clocked at 1.6GHz coupled with Adreno 530 GPU. This will be paired with 6GB LPDDR4 RAM and 64GB internal storage. There is no provision to add in extra storage via a microSD card slot. OnePlus 3 sports a 5.5-inch full HD Optic AMOLED display with 401 ppi pixel density and is powered by a 3000mAh non-removable Li-Ion battery. The front has a fingerprint sensor right below the screen and the alert slider used to control the profiles of the phone can be found at the top of the left-hand edge along with the volume rocker. The device sports a 16MP f/2.0 rear shooter with OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) and laser focus coupled with LED Flash along with an 8MP f/2.0 front camera. In terms of connectivity, the OnePlus 3 offers dual nano SIM along with Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, Wi-fi, GPS and DLNA. It has kept the 3.5mm headphone jack with reversible USB 2.0 Type-C port on the bottom with Dash Charge technology, proprietary implementation of quick charge support by OnePlus. It will run Oxygen 3.1.2 out of the box based on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. Vikas Agarwal, general manager at OnePlus India added, “India has always been a special market for us and we are thrilled to launch the OnePlus 3 for our Indian users simultaneously with the rest of the world. We are confident the phone will bode well with the expectations of the Indian fans, who will now have an easier time experiencing the OnePlus 3 since we have gone ‘invite free’. We are also introducing a line-up of attractive accessories and exclusive partner offers to make the user experience even more enriching.” Indian users will get complimentary subscription of 12 months of ad-free Saavn Pro. In addition to that, through OnePlus’ partnership with Idea Cellular Indian users will be able to enjoy ‘double data’ for 12 months. A third exciting offer lets OnePlus users avail 12 months of accidental damage coverage through the ‘OnePlus Care app’ powered by Servify. The Graphite variant of the OnePlus 3 will be available exclusively on Amazon.in, 12:30AM onwards starting 15 June for Rs 27,999, whereas the Soft Gold variant will be launched in the near future.
