While many Android smartphone manufacturers had made plenty of promises about delivering software updates last year, few have stuck to them. More importantly, only the flagship devices from HTC, Sony and Samsung so far have received their respective Android 6.0 Marshmallow updates. So whatever happened to the 'flagship killer' OnePlus?
Well, after promising the Android Marshmallow update in November last year, the company has yet to fulfill its promise, which was to deliver the update by Q1 2016. But the company seems to be working on it as Android Police discovered.
The website got hold of some screenshots showing the new update running on OnePlus' current flagship, the OnePlus 2.
Turns out the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update for the OnePlus 2 will be packed into the company's OxygenOS 3.0. As for the new features, this includes an Alerts Slider, new wallpapers and some homescreen customisations that now also features a widget picker.
Recently, OnePlus rolled out its Oxygen OS 2.2.1 update for OnePlus 2 users. In terms of features, the new update brought RAW file support for the default camera app. Another technical issue with image corruption in the camera was also fixed. Romanian language support was added in this update as well. Lastly, the update also saw some improvements with connectivity features such as Bluetooth, roaming issues and ultra-SIM compatibility as well.
