It’s WWDC day, which is Apple’s big developer conference. The keynote address for this year’s conference will be much awaited as rumour mills have indicated that Apple could show some major innovations such as a smart home innovation system, a new Apple TV, etc. The 2014 Worldwide Developers Conference is expected to provide details of how the company plans to tackle stagnating iPhone, iPad sales in upcoming markets such as India, China. We could see some serious changes to software platforms and maybe new hardware as well. As we wait for WWDC 2014, let’s not forget just how much of a force Apple has been over the past decade, and how much it has shaped the mobile world with its innovations, **many of which were announced at WWDC** . Technologizer has a handy list of the keynotes from the last decade, a treasure trove of WWDC openers. Like this one from the 2005 WWDC, where a healthy looking Steve Jobs announced the shift from PowerPC platform to Intel x86, a change that gave Apple a big boost in terms of how much they could produce and how quickly they could churn out upgrades.
In 2006, WWDC was held uncharacteristically in August, but it brought a bombshell along. Phil Schiller announced the Mac Pro, Apple’s professional desktop system, which has fast become the industry standard in video editing, graphics and design. Last year, Apple thoroughly revamped the Mac Pro, and this time too Schiller was on stage to unveil **the stunning monolithic, cylindrical Mac Pro.**
June 2010, and Apple showed the world the **iPhone 4, a game-changing design** that has set the standard for every iPhone since. Then there was the official christening of iOS, official launch of FaceTime and iMovie. All in all a very impactful WWDC. Here’s the video of Jobs’ penultimate WWDC keynote.
And just in case, **you didn’t catch last year’s WWDC** , where Mavericks, **iOS 7** and the new Mac Pro debuted, here’s a final video to leave you hankering for tonight’s keynote.
So what can we expect tonight? We have **already taken a look here** , and we may also get a clue or two about **Apple’s device line-up for this year** . Stay tuned for our coverage of the keynote and everything that’s announced through WWDC this week.
