A Mumbai-based businessman who took an Ola ride from Mumbai to Pune was shocked to see a bill that read Rs 83,000. Well, those who have traveled from Mumbai to Pune, which is a distance of a mere 3-4 hours, know how bizarre this can get. The bill showed an amount of Rs 83,395 for a round trip and the invoice showed that 7000 km of distance was traveled in 14 hours. However, Ola Cabs soon rectified the mistake and handed over a bill of Rs 4088 for the trip. The aggregator soon apologised for the mistake. The issue was due to some sort of software glitch. According to MumbaiMirror, Kamal Bhatia was travelling with his family and left home at 6:30 am for a wedding. They stayed at the wedding for the entire day and then left for Mumbai at 6.30PM. The final bill left him stunned, but the driver also acknowledge it is some sort of a mistake. Soon, a call was made to the customer support and he got the rectified bill. While, the bill was too huge an amount and instantly got noticed, so there could be instances wherein errors would make the bill swell up, but not high enough for you to realise you are paying more?
