The HTC Droid DNA was recently launched in the US. Prior to this, an image of the global variant of the 5-inch smartphone dubbed the HTC Deluxe had been leaked. The leaked image showed the handset available in black, but images that have recently surfaced online show that it will be available in brown and white as well.

The new photos do not reveal much about the handset except that it will come with Beats Audio technology. The Beats logo has been a constant on HTC handsets in the recent past, and it appears that this tradition will continue into 2013.

It is good that HTC will offer the handset in multiple colour options from the onset as it gives potential buyers a choice of different colours from the beginning itself.

The date of announcement of this handset is yet unknown, but the website that has acquired these images states that its source has claimed that one should know more about it by December 6, 2012.

However, with the Consumer Electronics Show and the Mobile World Congress events taking place early next year, we expect this handset to take to the stage at either event, if not both.

A few days ago, the HTC Deluxe made its first appearance through a leak on Twitter and the caption of the picture said that it would be the global version of the HTC Droid DNA currently sold by US cellular carrier Verizon. Like the previous image, these images too lose the carrier branding and feature the HTC logo at the top.

This handset features a large 5-inch 1080p display. As it is the global version of the Verizon Droid DNA, the specifications should be very similar. The Verizon model comes equipped with a 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor and features 2GB of RAM. As far as connectivity is concerned, this handset comes equipped with LTE and NFC capabilities. However, we have to wait and see if the global variant features the same specifications or if HTC launches it with slight modifications.

HTC has only recently announced a range of handsets for the Indian market, and these include the current flagship smartphone HTC One X+. So with these handsets making their way to India, we can gather that it will be some time before this handset will be launched in India. To read our review of the HTC One X+, click here.

The HTC One X+ is powered by a 1.7GHz quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 AP37 processor. The company claims that the HTC One X+ is 27 percent faster than the HTC One X. The HTC One X+ enables quicker web browsing, fluid gaming, graphic rendering, and speedy downloads.

As per an official statement, the HTC One X+ houses a 2,100mAh battery, giving users up to 37 percent (4.7 hours) more talk time. In addition to 64GB of internal storage, the HTC One X+ also offers users 25GB of Dropbox storage free for two years, and supports expanded storage capabilities via USB.

Here’s a quick look at the specs of the HTC One X+:

  • 4.7-inch display with a 1280 x 720 pixel resolution
  • LTE, 3G, EDGE/GPRS, Wi-Fi (Hot spot), Wi-Fi Direct, DLNA
  • NFC, Bluetooth with A2DP, USB 2.0
  • GPS with A-GPS support
  • 8 megapixel f/2.0 camera with LED flash, BSI sensor, 1.3 megapixel front camera
  • Stereo FM Radio
  • 64GB memory, 1GB RAM
  • MHL for AV out

So this shows that HTC has strong momentum, and it aims to take it into 2013 as well with the impending launch of the HTC Deluxe.
