High resolution official images of the Xiaomi Mi5X have appeared online, according to a report in Xiaomi Today. So far, there have only been teaser posters of the device, and a few leaks. A poster showing Kris Wu, a popular Chinese celebrity, holding the phone also surfaced. Xiaomi has made available multiple videos of Wu promoting the phone on the registration page for the device.

The device has seen over 200,000 registrations already, according to a report in Gizmochina. The images show a unibody phone available in three colours, rose gold, gold and black. There are antenna lines along the top and bottom of the device, similar to the iPhone. The back has a dual camera setup that protrudes slightly from the device, accompanied by a dual tone flash. The fingerprint scanner is also located on the back of the device. The bottom edge of the phone has a speaker grille on the right side, a 3.5 mm headphone jack on the left, and a USB-C slot in the middle.
Xiaomi has not officially released all the specifications of the smartphone. Leaked posters reveal that the phone will sport a 5.5 inch display, which is expected to have a full HD resolution. The phone will be powered by a Snapdragon 635 chipset, and have 4 GB of RAM. The volume rocker and power buttons are on the right, while the SIM card tray is to the left. A variant with higher specifications is rumoured, powered by a Snapdragon 660 chipset supported by 6 GB of RAM. The posters also reveal the price of the device, which will sell for 1,999 yuan (around Rs 19,000).
When images of the device initially leaked, there was speculation that the Mi5X would be launched under a third Xiaomi sub brand, after Redmi and Mi. Apparently, the third brand would have a focus on offline sales. However, when the device was announced under the Mi brand itself. The images have surfaced ahead of the 26 July launch which is to be held in the Beijing National Convention Center. Along with the launch of the Mi 5X, Xiaomi will also be releasing MIUI 9.
