Late last year, Nvidia had launched its Xolo-built Play Tegra Note 7 in the Indian market at a price of Rs 17,999. The company has now announced the LTE version of the device by adding the i500 LTE modem. The LTE version built by Xolo will be available starting second quarter of this year at a price of $299, which translates to Rs 18,500. So, we can expect it to reach India for a couple of thousands more. Xolo also plans to expand the Tegra Note 7’s availability to Western Europe, Brazil, and Ukraine, over the next few months.
The fifth-gen Nvidia i500 modem employed in the LTE version is only 40 percent the size of conventional modems but has 4x the processing capability of its predecessor, claims the company. Besides the LTE chipset, the device will maintain the other set of specifications.
In terms of specs, the tablet has a 7-inch display with a resolution of 800×1280 pixels. It is not a full HD screen and the pixel density is 216 pixels per inch. In terms of memory, it has 1 GB RAM and 16 GB of space. It also comes with a microSD slot with 64 GB as the limit. The tablet also has a Micro HDMI slot.
The device is powered by Nvidia’s Tegra 4 (4 x Cortex A15) processor clocked at 1.8GHz. For Graphics it has 72 Cores Tegra 40S GPU. It was launched running Android 4.2.2 version of Jelly Bean, but Xolo has started rolling out 4.4 KitKat update.
It has a 5 megapixel rear camera and a 0.3 megapixel front camera. The video playback quality is 1080 p which is full HD. It’s not clear if the tablet camera comes with a flash. The tablet supports Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0.
The tablet also comes with a stylus – Nvidia DirectStylus. The Xolo Play Tegra Note is powered by the Nvidia PureAudio technology which claims to give users true stereo experience.
