Nvidia announces free copy of Splinter Cell Blacklist Deluxe Edition with GPUs

Nvidia, alongside game publisher Ubisoft, has announced that those who purchase a GeForce GTX 660, 660 Ti, 670, 680, 760, 770 or 780 GPU will be getting a free copy of the PC version of Ubisoft’s upcoming stealth-action game Splinter Cell Blacklist Deluxe Edition. The offer is only valid for GPUs bought before December 31 this year.

According to Nvidia, engineers have been working closely with studio Ubisoft Toronto to incorporate some extra special effects into Splinter Cell: Blacklist, including Direct X tessellation, Nvidia HBAO+, TXAA anti-aliasing and surround technologies.

The game, based heavily on the world created by Tom Clancy, writer of books based on espionage stories, puts you into the shoes of NSA (National Security Agency) operative Sam Fisher. The next game in the series, titled Splinter Cell: Blacklist, was announced during last year’s E3. Ubisoft had released some information about the story , along with a trailer that showed off some gameplay in Blacklist. The game seems to be taking on a more action route, rather than the silent stealth route of the earlier games.

In Splinter Cell Blacklist, Sam Fisher returns as the leader of 4th Echelon, an elite counter-terrorism unit armed with a new mandate to hunt down the masterminds behind The Blacklist, a series of deadly escalating attacks on US interests. To stop the Blacklist countdown, gamers will choose the best way to face any challenge by tapping into Sam’s arsenal of lethal skills and training.

Splinter Cell Blacklist features a single player story, co-op missions and the return of the fan-favourite Spies Vs. Mercs multiplayer mode—all supported by a universal economy and customisation system that allows players to completely customise their game experience. Ubisoft claims that Blacklist is set to be the biggest game in the franchise.

Splinter Cell Blacklist will be hitting stores on August 23 and will be available on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.

Ever heard of one of those people who just never seem to shut up about something? Shunal is like the nerd equivalent of that guy. Believe us when we say that he can go on talking about games and smartphones for hours on end. We do manage to find some insight in his insane ramblings though, and through his moronic facade, he does seem to know more than he lets on. Sadly enough, it always ends up being about gaming with him. Or stupid, stupid puns.
