Now you can pair your Google Home with another Bluetooth speaker without using a Chromecast

Also now you can sync several other Bluetooth speakers connected to your Google Home for simultaneous playback.

Earlier if you wanted to pair your Google Home with another Bluetooth speaker you had to use a Chromecast Audio streamer for it. However, that will not be necessary anymore. Google has announced that users can now connect to their Bluetooth speaker directly without using a Chromecast and also set the speaker as their default playback option.

Google Home.

Google Home.

Also, now you can sync several other Bluetooth speakers connected to your Google Home for simultaneous playback. This step would certainly make it easier for users to listen to speakers of their own choice.

Google's blog has mentioned how only 'compatible' Bluetooth speakers can be connected to the Google Home, however, a CNET report has said that the spectrum of compatible devices is not limited to Chromecast-enabled speakers.

This is in sharp contrast to the Apple HomePod which does not have a Bluetooth option and can only play songs via Apple's AirPlay. Therefore you need to have an Apple device to play music which makes the HomePod's compatibility very limited.

Also, the HomePod cannot connect to more than one speaker simultaneously yet.

Google's removal of connection via Chromecast and also the ability to play music via multiple speakers simultaneously does it give it an edge over the HomePod.
