Well it shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise, because we already saw Infibeam giving the tablet for pre-orders, indicating that the Xoom might release on the 10th of May . Xoom was the first tablet showcased running Google’s tablet-specific operating system, Android Honeycomb. The tablet is powered by a dual-core 1 GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor and boasts of a camera that can record videos at 720p. The tablet also supports 1080p Full HD video recording, which obviously is a nice feature.

The specifications of the Xoom are as follows:

  • 10.1-inch capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels
  • Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n
  • Bluetooth 2.1 with EDR
  • 5 megapixel camera with autofocus and dual LED flash
  • 2 megapixel front facing camera
  • Memory expandable to 32 GB
  • 3.5 mm audio jack
  • HDMI Out port

The specifications certainly look very promising and the Xoom has quite a bit to offer. While it carries a tag of Rs. 38,500 on the online store, the pricing is bound to drop as we saw it happen with the iPad 2. One thing is for sure, the Xoom is definitely heading to India pretty soon.
