Facebook seems extremely keen on making sure it fuels interactions and discussions on the social networking website. While the service had added a **Trending column** back last month, this time Facebook has tweaked the News Feed to show you more stories about topics you’re interested in, but from other Pages. Say, you’ve liked Sachin Tendulkar on Facebook; if the BCCI page on the website makes a post about the sportsman, you will be able to see the post, even if you’ve not liked the cricket board’s Page. Facebook believes that this will only go on to capture user attention on topics they’ve already expressed interest in. Facebook’s Product Manager, Andrew Song, made the announcement on a blog post explaining that such an arrangement is already taking place on a small scale on all News Feeds. Say if an acquaintance gets tagged in someone else’s pictures, you will be able to see it on your News Feed, even if you’re not friends with the tagger. “When we tested adding this feature for Pages we found that people liked seeing this type of content in their News Feeds and gave these stories high scores in surveys,” he wrote. Song goes on to explain that multiple factors go into deciding what stories are surfaced on your News Feed and one of these is the number of people who like both the Page and the Page tagged in a post. For example, if many people like the Sachin Tendulkar page as well as BCCI, Facebook understands that these two are connected. If it sees that people who like both Sachin and BCCI like a post put up by the latter, it’s only relevant to Sachin fans. These new changes are already available and you may soon start seeing posts about your favourite people, movies, games and more put up by other pages.
