Notion Ink's Adam Tablet Fails Miserably to Impresss Engadget Reviewers

All’s been quiet on the Notion Ink front for quite some time now. While we still haven’t seen hair nor hide of the Notion Ink Adam officially in our local tech markets, it has arrived in the US. Engadget has even got a review, one of the very few out, that goes into quite a bit of detail about the device. The device they tested features a Pixel Qi display.

Suffice to say, it did not meet expectations. From the looks of it, it seems like the Adam’s only real redeeming quality was its display and the fact that it has standard sized USB and HDMI ports. The latter didn’t seem to offer the users audio but apparently handled 1080p video mirroring well enough. The review also goes on to talk about the display which is designed to offer a wider viewing angle and comfortable viewing even in direct sunlight and how that didn’t quite seem to impress either.

Broken promises?

Engadget found the Adam to be a disappointment to say the very least. This further peaks my curiosity to test it myself, if I could get a hold of one and that’s not easy. It still irks me that an Indian company chose not to launch a “breakthrough” device like this on their own turf, reasoning be damned. Nevertheless, we will make sure that our own review is up as soon as the Adam is official in India, whenever it gets here, if it ever does. But thanks to Engadget for giving us a closer look at the device. How this “raving” review will affect the company’s sales. I guess we’ll find out soon enough.
