Nokia's Windows RT tablet, named Sirius, will be thinner than iPad 4

According to the rumour mills, Nokia appears to be working on two devices, one a 6-inch Lumia phone codenamed Bandit for and another a Windows RT Tablet with 10.1-inch screen.

According to the rumour mills, Nokia appears to be working on two devices - one is a 6-inch Lumia phone codenamed Bandit and the other is a Windows RT Tablet with 10.1-inch screen. More on the Nokia Bandit here .

Previously images of a pink coloured Nokia tablet were leaked on Chinese Web-forum Digiwo . The site also said that a green-blue coloured tablet is also likely to be launched.

Now The Verge has reported that Nokia’s tablet is named Sirius and will come with 10.1-inch screen and will be thinner and lighter than the current iPad 4.

According to the Verge the specs include a 6-megapixel camera at the rear, 1920 x 1080 resolution screen, and Qualcomm’s quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor with 2GB RAM.

The report adds that Nokia is aiming for 10 hours of solid battery life with LTE connectivity. If Nokia pulls that off, it could be quite something. The tablet is rumoured to run Windows RT. (Windows RT is a version of Windows 8 for mobiles devices which use ARM architecture .)

However as Windows RT tablets are concerned that they haven’t done too well. Microsoft has lost nearly $900 million on Surface RT tablets .

The launch is likely to take place at special launch event in New York in September.
