While Nokia X was launched last month for Rs 8,599, the XL and X+ were likely to reach Indian shores by May . Now, the company is all set to showcase the Nokia XL, and has sent out invites for events in Delhi and Mumbai to be held on May 1 and May 3, respectively.
The invite states ‘Fastlane to your Android Apps’ along with #GoNokiaXL, clearly hinting that the company plans to bring the XL to India soon. However, there is no mention of the X+.
Take a look at the invite below:
The Nokia XL sports a 5-inch display with 480 x 800 pixels of resolution, and is powered by a dual-core Snapdragon processor that clocks at 1GHz. It comes equipped with a 5 megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera for Skype calls and selfies. Its 4GB onboard storage can be expanded further up to 32GB via microSD card slot.
The connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS with A-GPS. It runs Android, but the login and app data is said to be tied to Microsoft’s cloud services, and not Google as in any other Android phone. The phones run a version of Android Open Source Project, with access to sideloading of apps, third-party app stores and Nokia’s own store. You will find Microsoft essentials instead of Google services.
