Despite a 41 megapixel camera and a massive publicity campaign, the Nokia Pureview 808 has failed to revive the fortunes of the beleaguered phone maker in India. In an attempt to boost its sales in the Diwali season, Nokia has slashed the price of its Pureview 808 and the phone is now available for Rs 25,000 on online shopping websites.
Websites like Flipkart and Saholic are now offering the phone at Rs 25, 000. The phone launched in India at Rs 33,889.

The smartphone had won accolades and awards at the Mobile Phone Convention in Barcelona earlier this year and was touted as a revolutionary device as far as capturing images goes. The phone is equipped with PureView technology and its 41 mega-pixel camera allowed users to click some really sharp photos, which was the centre of the phone’s advertising campaign.
Other technical specifications include, 16 GB internal storage, 4.0-inch AMOLED Display, 1.3 GHz ARM 11 processor and 512 MB of RAM. The phone’s camera also allows full HD 1080p video recording and playback with 4X lossless zoom and features exclusive Dolby Headphone technology.
However, the Pureview 808 despite its camera, never set the cash registers ringing as it runs of the Symbian Belle operating system, that the phone maker has since abandoned in favour of Windows operating system for its new phones. Its heavy weight also didn’t endear it to buyers.
