Nokia shows off smudge free screen technology

Sometime back, Apple had put forth its smudge free technology using Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) as touchscreens often act as fingerprint magnets. Now, Nokia decides to ‘wipe off’ such user worries, rather annoyance, with the new super hydrophobic technology, reveals Pocket-Lint . Showcased at the Nokia World, we could probably see the Finnish company employ it in their future phones.

This nano coating technology has been developed in Cambridge, and boasts the ability to resist liquids such as oil (from fingers) from forming fingerprints on the screen. This thin layer is applied to the screen, ensuring the liquid/oil from fingers does not stick to the surface.

As the nano layer is applied to the screen surface, many may wonder if it could hinder the screen clarity. The Finnish firm has an answer to this as it claims that the coating has no affect on the viewing experience rather the device emerges water resistant.
