We were all expecting Nokia to launch its first ever phablet aka Lumia 1520 later this month, until reports earlier this week suggested that the launch has been pushed to October 22. Now, Nokia has put up a teaser on Twitter showing an image that simply says, Save the Day: October 22, 2013.
The tweet reads “At Nokia, we never stop innovating. More to share on October 22 #Nokia #innovationreinvented.” Though the company hasn’t hinted what they’d be unveiling, it is highly speculated to be the Lumia 1520 .
Lumia 1520 is it?
Earlier reports revealed that Nokia will be launching the Lumia 1520 on September 26 , but some sources tipped off evleaks that the launch will be pushed to the 22nd of next month. Moreover, Nokia is also expected to launch its 10.1-inch Windows RT tablet called Sirius , along with the Lumia 1520 (earlier codenamed Bandit).
Over the past one month, Lumia 1520 has surfaced several times in the form of leaks and rumours. We even got a closer look at the phablet last week. Going by the pictures and given its specs, the Lumia 1520 will be running the GDR3 update of Windows Phone 8, optimised for 1080p devices. It brings an extra column of live tiles on the Start Screen. It is likely to feature a 6-inch 1080p display, 32GB of storage, microSD card slot and 2GB of RAM. All of this is said to be powered by a Snapdragon 800 SoC from Qualcomm.
