Nokia has now released a new update for its music streaming service for Windows Phone 8 devices. Nokia Music is a free streaming service that was launched for WP8-enabled Lumia devices users earlier this year. The new update pads that service up with concert notifications as well as new release alerts.
The concert notifications feature alerts music fiends about upcoming gigs taking place in the area. This is a great feature for music fans, as it allows them to quickly get their hands on gig tickets before they’re all sold out. The update also allows users to “Like” a particular artist. Based on playing history and the contents of your music library, the Nokia Music app will also “Like” artists. That means, that every time your favourite artist comes up with some new music, you’ll get a notification.
Windows Phone 8-enable Lumia users will be also be able to pin Nokia Music to their home screen and also enable Live Tile notifications. The tile will then display the artwork from your most recent track played and will also send out an alert to users each time there is any news.

This update is being rolle out for all Nokia Lumia smartphones running Windows Phone 8 and will be available via the Windows Phone Store from today. It should be noted that Nokia Music comes pre-installed on Lumia smartphones and offers playlists spanning across a variety of genres, curated by music experts and recording artists. It also comes with a ‘Create’ function, for customised playlists inspired by your favorite artists. All playlists will also be made available for offline listening, for the times when you may fall off the grid. So what are you waiting for? Get your Lumia smartphone out and download the update now.
