Nokia Lumia 1020 or Nokia 909? Looks like we’ve found a name for Nokia’s newest 41-megapixel camera totting phone – it will be called Nokia Lumia 1020. A couple of images from Windows Phone Vice President Joe Belifore have confirmed that the phone has already been christened.
While we’re likely to hear more about this upcoming Lumia device on Thursday, an enterprising member on The Verge forums found a couple of images on Belifore’s Flickr account. The Exif data of these recently clicked photos revealed that the device used was a “Nokia Lumia 1020”. While the Exif data can be faked, it is very unlikely that the VP at Microsoft would tamper with this metadata, especially on his own Flickr page. We’re putting this leak down as an oversight.

The images have been made private ever since news of the Exif data leaked. One of the images was taken at a resolution of 2947x1658 pixels while the other was taken at 2352x1568 pixels. It was also noted that these images were exported using Adobe Lightroom and were not uploaded from the camera.
Press shots of the device were leaked by serial leaker @evleaks earlier this month. He had mentioned that the device could be called the Nokia Lumia 1020. On the other hand a few rumours pointed to the Lumia 909 name, these can now be laid to rest.
The Nokia Lumia 1020 is expected to have the much-anticipated 41-megapixel camera at the back and will reportedly run Nokia’s new Amber Windows Phone software update, which will support the company’s upcoming Smart Camera app.
