Nokia today launched its first tablet: The Lumia 2520 with a 10.1-inch full HD screen and a 6.7 megapixel rear camera. The tablet which has been priced at $499 also comes with 3G connectivity. The Lumia 2520 will launch in the US first, followed by the UK. No word on an India launch but don’t expect it this year.
The key features of the Lumia 2520 tablet are:
It has a 10.1-inch full HD screen at a resolution of 1920 x 1080. It has Corning Gorilla Glass 2 screen which is scratch proof and the pixel density is 281 ppi. According to Nokia, the tablet ensures that users can read on the device even in bright sunlight.
The rear camera is 6.7 megapixel (more than the iPad 4 which has a 5 megapixel camera) and the front camera is 2 megapixel. The tablet has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core 2.2 GHz processor, and comes with 2 GB of RAM. The total memory space is 32 GB. The tablet has a maximum standby time of 25 days.

It also has a slot for a microSD slot with the maximum limit of 32 GB. The tablet runs Windows RT and now Windows 8. Windows RT will ensure that users can only access those apps that are available on the official Windows App Store.
The tablet has a USB 3.0 slot, supports Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi and NFC for sharing. The tablet has 4G connectivity as well.
The Storyteller app, which organises photos on the basis of locations, is also available for the tablet. Users have the option of linking the app to their Facebook photos as well.
Nokia also released a power keyboard for the tab which can be wrapped around the tablet as a cover, but unfolds to be a full keyboard and trackpad. It also gives an extra 5 hours of battery life, total battery life is 16 hours, and the tablet has 2 USB ports. Users will have to shell out an extra $149 for this.
