Nokia D1C image renders leak online; show off a phone in white, black and gold colour variants

Nokia, the once celebrated smartphone company, is all set to make a comeback with its D1C. The Nokia D1C has, in fact, been popping its head quite often. However, when it comes to some concrete details, there’s been a no-show from the company and speculation runs rife. Finally, some image renders on Weibo (via AndroidPure) of the upcoming device are out and, it has managed to put an end to the squabble over whether D1C is a smartphone or tablet.  The images show the usual candy bar shape dipped in gold, white and black colour options. The back shows the image sensor and LED flash, with the Nokia logo etched right at the centre. It also looks like the gold edition will come with a fingerprint scanner because the gold edition seems to have a dedicated home button.  The handset had recently appeared on Geekbench , giving us a sneak peek into some of its features. The device runs Android 7.0 Nougat and the benchmark app was run a few times. Scores showed 628 points in single-core and 3229 in multi-threaded loads. This isn’t exactly high-end, which is obviously due to the low-end octa-core Snapdragon 430 SoC, clocked at 1.4 GHz, with Adreno 505 GPU and 3GB of RAM. Apart from these details, now we have the new render images. Earlier this year, Microsoft had come to an agreement to sell its entry-level smartphone devices to FIH Mobile Ltd, which is a subsidiary of Foxconn Technology Group and HMD Global. HMD had acquired the rights to use the Nokia brand on its products for over a period of 10 years. The official statement said that the first device might release around Q4 2016.
