Earlier this month, Microsoft begun rolling out the **Nokia Cyan update** for some users starting with the entry-level Lumia 625. Now, a WPCentral report states that Windows Phone devices running the Windows Phone 8.1 Preview for Developers and BitLocker disk encryption are facing problems downloading the Nokia Cyan update. The update is bricking these devices, and Microsoft has decided to suspend the update for those using the developer preview. And, it will resume only once the problem is fixed. Those who can’t wait for the problem to be fixed will have to downgrade to the commercial software, and then only download Nokia Cyan. Those users whose phones are already bricked can use the Nokia Recovery Software Tool that will help ‘un-brick’ the handset. It should be noted that only those devices with Windows Phone 8.1 Preview for Developers using BitLocker are facing the problem. This means if the device is running Windows Phone 8 like any other handset, you shouldn’t face any problem. Here’s what the Microsoft statement says, “We are currently investigating the issue. We have paused delivery of the update to customers using the Preview for Developers, and will resume once a fix is in place. Customers whose phones have been affected should use the Nokia Software Recovery Tool to return your Lumia to a normal commercial software state before downloading the Lumia Cyan update.”
