Nokia and Microsoft are throwing a party at the beginning of games week in Cologne, Germany, and this celebration only points out to one thing, the official unveiling of Nokia’s first Windows Phone 7 (WP7) device, which in all probability will be the W9 or ‘Sea Ray’. The invite does not state any specifics about the event, but why else would these two companies throw a party together?

Whats cooking?

What’s cooking?

Other than the free food and drinks, Microsoft will also be giving away three Xbox 360 250GB consoles with Kinect and Nokia will be giving away three WP7 phones, all part of a raffle. The invite also talks about ‘exciting actions and surprises’, which hints at the fact there’s a very strong possibility that Nokia will announce the W9 (or even more, if we’re lucky). The W9 borrows a lot of design cues from the N9 and will pack in some powerful hardware, which is a mandate from Microsoft for an even experience across different manufacturers. We’ll keep you posted on any developments that happen till the D-day.
