HMD Global's Nokia announced as many as five new phones at MWC this year. This includes the Nokia 1, the Nokia 8110 4G, the Nokia 6 (2018), the Nokia 7 Plus and the Nokia 8 Sirocco. A new report now claims that Nokia may go on to announce two new smartphones with Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 845 chipset inside.
A report by popular Nokia news tracking website NokiaPowerUser states that both the upcoming Nokia 8 Pro and the Nokia 9 will both be powered by the Snapdragon 845 chip. The report also adds that the Nokia 9 may come with what is being claimed to be the "best in class" smartphone camera. The camera setup on the Nokia 9 is expected to even trump the quality of the Penta-lens camera module which we've heard will make its way to the Nokia 8 Pro.
The Nokia 9 is also expected to come with a more premium display and may also likely pack an in-display fingerprint scanner. The display spoken of in this case is also expected to be marginally larger than the one on the Nokia 8 Pro. The publication also states the price of the Nokia 9 will be considerably higher than that of the 8 Pro.
Based on an earlier report, we had also seen leaked images of the supposed Nokia 8 Pro alongside another phone which may be the Nokia 9.
As for price and availability details, we do not know when the devices will arrive but the Nokia 9 is expected to come in later this year, most likely in September, while the 8 Pro may arrive earlier.
