A fresh round of leaks surrounding the Nokia 9 PureView are suggesting that the phone may arrive at Mobile World Congress 2019 (MWC) at the end of February rather than later this month, as initially expected.
According to a new Instagram throwback video posted by HMD Chief Product Officer, the executive reveals a new hashtag titled #coolnewstuff, which is placed against the #nokiamobile hashtag. Since neither HMD nor Nokia have something unique planned for the audience that they aren’t already aware of, both entities could be gearing up to launch the Nokia 9 PureView.
A Twitter account that goes by the username Nokia Leaks and is known for relatively accurate information on upcoming Nokia phones claims that HMD Global has postponed the launch of the Nokia 9 PureView to MWC 2019. Another Twitter account that leaks details of forthcoming Nokia smartphones (Nokia anew) state that if the company had really planned to debut the Nokia 9 PureView in January then the company would have begun sending out invitations by now.
About the announcement of Nokia 9. 😶
If the announcement takes place in January, the invitations will be sent until Wednesday. If Juho is really postponed the announcement at MWC is the REAL FAILURE. The cool flagship will be eclipsed by new smartphones of other brands. #Nokia9

Rumours of the Nokia 9 PureView originated during the start of 2018, with November of last year revealing renders showing off the five-camera smartphone.
Tipster Evan Blass had also posted an image of the device on Twitter, revealing that it has an in-display fingerprint sensor. He also confirmed the device has five cameras. The units are expected to come with Zeiss-branded optics.
Another leak, this time by NokiaPowerUser, has also listed a bunch of expected specifications of the device, to wit, the Nokia 9 will feature a 5.9-inch display, an aluminium frame and a glass unibody design.
There is no word on the total pixel count of this camera system, but it could pretty high. One report did mention that three out of the five rear cameras are rumoured to be 41 MP units, one a 20 MP unit and the fifth one a 9.7 MP unit.
The Nokia 9 PureView is expected to be powered by Snapdragon 845 SoC and not the upcoming Snapdragon 855. This is expected to be paired with 8 GB RAM and 256 GB internal storage.
While we're all very excited to see what five rear-facing cameras have to offer, other smartphone launches including that of the Samsung Galaxy S10 lineup will overshadow the launch of the Nokia 9 Pureview at MWC. Anyway, that's for HMD Global to worry about.
