Nokia 8 with 6 GB RAM and 128 GB of storage spotted on FCC listing; likely to be introduced in the US

HMD Global’s flagship **Nokia** phone, the **Nokia 8** is yet to be launched in India, however, a **previous report** did reveal that phone could launch in India on 26 September. A new report today revealed that a new variant of the Nokia 8 with 6 GB of RAM has been spotted on a recent FCC listing. Nokia Power User in a report states that the new variant was spotted on the FCC listing alongside the regular variant. While an FCC listing immediately reveals that the variant would most likely come to the US, there was another detail spotted which almost confirms this. The new version was found to add WCDMA Band IV compatibility which applies only to the US market. The new 6 GB variant also enables the ANT+ feature that enables real-time tracking of fitness and health monitoring data. Nokia has partnered with **Carl Zeiss** for the cameras on the Nokia 8. The smartphone has a bothie photo mode during which the user can use both, the front and the rear camera, to take an image or a video. The Nokia 8 has an aluminium unibody design housing a 5.3 inch, 2K, polarised display covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 5. Nokia 8 will be running on Android 7.1.1 Nougat and employs an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor along with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage expandable to 256 GB via a micro-SD card. The phone uses a full-length copper cooling pipe with a graphite shield to dispense off heat across the metal body of the phone. Inside it has a 3,090 mAh battery and 4G dual-SIM support with one slot acting as a hybrid SIM slot. It also has an IP54 rating, making it splash proof. The Nokia 8 will be available in four colours namely matte silver, polished blue, matte blue, polished copper.
