It's been nearly two weeks since the Nokia 3, 5 and 6 handsets were announced in India but since then, only the Nokia 3 has been made available and that too in offline stores only. Quite recently, however, the phone became available online on Croma's website even after HMD had made it clear that the Nokia 3 will only be sold via offline channels.
The smartphone has been listed at Rs 10,200 and is selling it at its offline price of Rs 9,499 after a 7 percent 'discount'. On a side note, the Nokia 3 runs on Android 7.0 Nougat and HMD has confirmed that the phone will get a update to Android 7.1.1 Nougat soon.
The Nokia 3 has Mediatek MT6737 processor paired with a Mali T720 GPU, 2 GB of RAM and a 2,650 mAh battery. Additionally, it comes with a 5-inch 720p HD display, 16 GB of internal storage which can go up to 128 GB.
The Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 which were slated for a release on 7 July, 2017 and 14 July, 2017 respectively, hit a slight bump due to the new GST bill that will come into play on 1 July, 2017. India Today reported that the retailers of the Nokia 5, 6 have made it clear that they will only be able to accept new stocks of Nokia phones after the first week of July.
At the same time, Nokia sources also say that the company has already taken into account the tax structure that will be applicable for mobile phones after 1 July, 2017 India Today reported. With this delay, there might be a shortage of devices by the end of third week of July, but the phones are most likely to be stocked up by end of the month. GST will not be affecting the prices of the Nokia 5 and 6 which are going to be launched at Rs 12,899 and Rs 14,999 respectively.
