Nimbuzz debuts redesigned app for BlackBerry 10

Nimbuzz, the cross-messaging mobile platform has announced the launch of its redesigned messaging app for the BlackBerry 10 platform that will provide free picture and video messaging, file sharing and chat.

The app in its new avatar will integrate GTalk, Yahoo and Facebook messenger in a BlackBerry app, enabling users to send messages, pictures and videos across to any mobile device. Nimbuzz will aim to provide BlackBerry 10 devices including the PlayBook access to its features.

For BlackBerry 10 devices Group and ‘Peer-to-Peer’ messaging will be an important feature that will create free chat rooms for friends to use. It will also allow multimedia sharing using the app thereby cutting down data costs, making it cheap and affordable to send across images and videos to friends and family.

Now for BlackBerry 10 devices

Nimbuzz will also allow BlackBerry users to post directly to Facebook and Twitter through its social integration, without even needing to leave the app. What’s more is that the app will allow BlackBerry 10 users to access the N-World, Nimbuzz’ own entertainment-focused international marketplace.

BlackBerry had selected Nimbuzz as a pre-launch recipient of its new SDK, providing the app makers with advanced tools and resources to build a special version of Nimbuzz that will work across all BlackBerry 10 devices, including an expedited review process from BlackBerry World.

“BlackBerry must continue to identify and promote the most successful and unique apps that already reach millions of users worldwide – this focus on advanced functionality and developer engagement will be a catalyst to the platform’s success,” said Vikas Saxena, CEO of Nimbuzz. “As an early pioneer in mobile communications, and a long-time BlackBerry developer, Nimbuzz will continue to deliver a powerful, feature-rich experience to BlackBerry users.”

The app itself has more than 100 million users the world over and the company claims that it sees more than 210,000 new registrations on a daily basis.

Last year in August Nimbuzz announced its association with Nokia Asha 311 smartphones. Coming preinstalled with Nokia Asha 311 smartphone, Nimbuzz offered free messaging and entertainment, the company had said in a statement. The official statement claimed that Nimbuzz on Nokia Asha 311 enabled the user to stay connected with their Nimbuzz contacts as well as connect multiple IM on one screen. With unique data compression technology of Nokia Browser, consumers could experience Nimbuzz instant messaging without having to worry about data download charges. Nokia Browser compresses data up to 85 percent, making internet experience more affordable for the consumer said the company.
