Nikon’s 105mm f/1.4 ED is one of the fastest portrait lenses today

A new portrait lens has been unveiled by Nikon which will definitely attract photographers, especially the ones in the field of shooting portfolios or fashion. The new 105mm F1.4E ED is the latest addition to Nikon’s large range of lenses. The company recently announced the lens which is priced at an eye-cringing $2,199 (Rs 1,46,000 approx). Like all Nikon lenses it is F-mount compatible and is made for Nikon FX cameras, or simpler terms for full frame Nikon DSLRs. ![Nikon](http://tech.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/Nikon.jpg) It comes with a silent wave AF motor system with rounded 9-blade diaphragm. While maximum magnification is just 0.13x, Nikon has decided not included its VR or vibration reduction technology. Well, with such a large aperture size, we doubt one would need any stabilisation. “Surpassing the 100 million lenses produced milestone is a great honor and a testament to the photographers who both love and rely on NIKKOR glass to get the job done,” said Kosuke Kawaura, Director of Marketing and Planning, Nikon Inc. “The AF-S NIKKOR 105mm f/1.4E ED represents the embodiment of the NIKKOR line of high-quality lenses, giving photographers a robust, well-balanced lens.” The new lens is expected to hit select markets around 26 August and is currently available for pre-order today. There is no confirmation as to when the lens will hit the Indian market, but the new product is listed on Nikon India’s website, which means that it should come in a couple of months.
