Here’s some news that will keep you optimistic about Google’s newest Nexus offering hitting the market soon. For a brief period of time, the Nexus 5 made an appearance on Google Play Store’s listing before being promptly pulled off. However, we managed to get a nice glimpse of what to expect in the near future.
Listing replaces Nexus 4 on Play Store with the Nexus 5
According to a report by Engadget , while some users were able to see the outgoing Nexus 4 on Google Play Store’s device page, some were able to see a 16GB model of Nexus 5. The device sported a price tag of $349 (Rs 21,330 approx.) and was placed next to the new Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 tablets, taking the place of the Nexus 4. The tagline that accompanied the device seemed like a fun one. “Capture the everyday and the epic in fresh new ways,” it read.
The Nexus 4 too had made its debut at the price point of $349 for the 16GB model but also had a cheaper $299 (Rs 18,277 approx.) 8GB variant. While there seems to be no indications about whether the Nexus 5 will come in a lower storage form, the price point for the 16GB variant does not seem to be too shabby at all. Another interesting bit gathered via the leaked listing shows the Nexus 5 sporting some of the UI tweaks that were spoken about as part of the Android version 4.4 KitKat update.
