Nextbit Robin stock was sold out long before it went on sale on Flipkart

The Nextbit Robin joins the long line of smartphone brands that are sold out even before going on sale. The Robin, which offers unlimited storage as its USP (read all about it in our review ) was set to go on sale on My 30, but stock was pre-ordered well before the actual sale. Nextbit reports that their phone received such an overwhelming response that stocks of the phone were exhausted in the pre-order period itself. The phone was supposed to go on sale for Rs 19,999 as a Flipkart exclusive. The phone will reportedly be “back on sale at Flipkart within a week.” The phone houses a Snapdragon 808 and 3GB RAM under the hood. The display is a 5.2 inch Full HD model and you get 32GB of internal storage and 100GB of cloud storage The “unlimited storage” is a bit of a gimmick for sure, but cloud storage options are baked right into the OS. In our review , we pointed out that 100GB isn’t unlimited by any means, and the fact that the cloud storage feature isn’t as fleshed-out as we hoped it would be. Regardless, the asking price is reasonable and if you consider the breath of fresh air that the design and pastel shades breathe into the smartphone world, it’s worth the price.
