Apple partnered with the world-renowned Mayo Clinic on this. With HealthKit, the iPhone will keep a tab on important health metrics on a daily basis, and over a longer period.

It is ritual for Apple’s to release an ad soon after WWDC to keep the buzz going and while the company isn’t showing HealthKit in the ad, it’s building the buzz for its arrival later this year.

The ad features a bunch of people doing various exercises in sync with fitness apps and the attached gadgets backed by a song called ‘Chicken Fat’ by Robert Preston which was originally composed for a Presidential Fitness programme under former US President John F Kennedy.

The different gadgets spotted in the ad range from a Misfit Shine to a Withings scale to a Zepp Golf sensor which are compatible with iPhones. The ad is Apple’s attempt at getting its user base familiar with the various health-related devices and apps in the market, so that there’s enough of a momentum in that area when HealthKit finally arrives.
