Ubisoft has released a new video that shows the unique take on multiplayer in the upcoming sci-fi dystopian game—Watch Dogs. The game seems to have a multiplayer mode that is reminiscent of From Software’s fantasy epics Demon’s Souls and Dark Souls. Check out the video:
In the video, the protagonist of the game—Aiden Pearce—gets sudden news of a new hacker attacking the game. He proceeds to find the player-controlled invader by using some of the in-game tools like hacking security cameras. An intense chase sequence later, the hacker has failed to hack into the game and had to run away.
In the second half of the video, the player attacks another player’s game. He sneaks up on the unsuspecting player and starts hacking, but is shortly discovered and is forced to run.
HACKING!
The video was uploaded by Ubisoft, but the company quickly pulled it down. It has, however, been re-uploaded by others.
In Watch Dogs, players will assume the role of Aiden Pearce, a new type of vigilante who, with the help of his smartphone, will use his ability to hack into Chicago’s central operating system (ctOS) and control almost every element of the city. Aiden will be able to tap into the city’s omnipresent security cameras, download personal information to locate a target, control systems such as traffic lights or public transportation to stop a chase, and more. The city of Chicago is now the ultimate weapon.
The game will be hitting store shelves on November 22 and will be available for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
