uTorrent once again proves that it’s the best, by now offering a web user interface for the latest beta version. WebUI lets you control your uTorrent running on your PC from anywhere in the world.
Other P2P applications like eMule have had a fully functional web UI for years now, but this new uTorrent UI offers something never been tried before: it looks and behaves exactly like a desktop application, thanks to AJAX.
You’ll see the usual list boxes and tabs, and also the configuration window that’s an exact replicate of the desktop application window. If it wasn’t for the theme skin behind the toolbar, I could have sworn I was looking at the desktop application and not the web UI! Unfortunately (or fortunately?), those using Internet Explorer will not be able to enjoy this!
The uTorrent WebUI also accepts incoming HTTP connections on the same port as your uTorrent, which is a good thing for connections with a limited number of open ports.
The uTorrent application and web UI will be separate downloads (to reduce bloat), but the beta version 0.300 of the web UI is available as a single zip file that also includes uTorrent 1.6 beta build 481. View the forum thread here , or download the WebUI zip file directly.
