New Search Engine Pays Users

Search engine SlashMySearch.com debuts, allowing web users to earn money by simply making it their primary search engine.

The free search engine uses proprietary algorithms, to ‘slash’ through more of the junk and find the most relevant results. SlashMySearch.com filters results from Yahoo, AltaVista, Excite, Google search, and several other sources. The engine also tracks what results are visited the most and refines its database with that information.

Another feature is the integrated eBay.com and Amazon.com search. The engine allows a regular eBay search and an eBay Typo search. ‘My Search’ will automatically generate common misspellings, omissions and other mistakes, while filtering all correctly spelled listings. This is done because there are thousands of auctions on eBay that are misspelled and do not show up as most people would search with the correctly spelled word. Users are required to be registered members of eBay, to use this feature.

The security feature in SlashMySearch warns users about websites with potential security exploits, viruses, trojans, spyware and other web nuisances. Instead of the thumbnail, a yellow or red warning image will appear, according to severity, advising users to be extra cautious.

Users also get a thumbnail preview of each of the search results, offering a quick preview of the web sites searched for. Moreover, while typing in search queries, users may look for keyword suggestions in the drop down box. These suggested keywords may help users refine their search with a term that is more popular.

Michael Gabrill, the founder and developer of Slash My Search said, “I appreciate what Yahoo and Google have done for the internet but I still think there are improvements to be made. Why can’t I search eBay or other online stores using improved algorithms at another search engine? I think Slash My Search will change the way consumers search the web. I never want to be someone’s first stop on the journey for information, products or information. I want them to try other websites and search engines first and then come try Slash My Search to see how many differences and benefits there are.”
