The buzz is that the next-gen Samsung Chromebook may come with a Note 3-like faux leather design. Prolific tipster EVLeaks has posted an image of the Chromebook showing a black leather back with grey stitching. The tweet reads, “Chromebook 2.”

In 2013, Chromebooks surpassed Apple’s Macbooks , and manufacturers may now try to leverage that further. And it looks like Samsung wants to extend its Android design language to Chromebooks too. The faux-leather back first showed up on last year’s Galaxy Note 3 and then on the Galaxy Grand 2 as well. While the tweet doesn’t mention anything about the specs or potential launch date, going by the previous Chromebook, it could come with a nifty specs sheet. The current Samsung Chromebook comes with an 11.6-inch display with a resolution of 1366×768 pixels. Powered by a 1.7GHz dual-core Samsung Exynos 5 Dual processor coupled with 2GB of RAM, it tips the scale at 1.1 kilogram and is 17.5mm thin. On the battery front, it promises up to 6.5 hours of activity. Unlike most laptops that feature an Intel chip, we can expect the next-gen Samsung Chromebook to follow its predecessor and employ an Exynos chip yet again. The existing Samsung Chromebook also features a 16GB SSD (Solid State Drive) along with additional 100GB of Drive cloud storage (valid for two years) from Google. Some other specs include built-in dual band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, optional 3G modem, VGA webcam, a USB port and a micro-USB port, HDMI port and support for Bluetooth 3.0. One will also find preloaded Google services like Gmail, YouTube and Hangouts in the Chromebook.
