Brian Farrell, CEO of THQ confirmed yesterday that the third installment in the Red Faction franchise is on its way. Farell hasn’t given out any specifics yet, but we’re hoping that that will change in the coming weeks.
For the clueless, in the Red Faction series you played the role of a miner on Mars who becomes part of a rebellion against the oppressive body governing the mining operations. The game introduced GeoMod technology that allows you to bore holes through walls using your weapons. Let’s hope that we see an evolved version of GeoMod in the next installment of Red Faction, since it really kicked ass for its time and with the kind of hardware power available now, I can only imagine how much better it could be.
